Illegal aliens have an easier time getting jobs than sex offenders. The classification cripples people who have never touched anyone. This system is based on fears of a society that is archaic in nature compared to any other country. Someone needs to reclassify the non physical offenders. Families are destroyed by a click of a mouse and no one cares. If I am illegal I have rights. A sex offender is stripped of all rights.

I have had many potential employers tell me quite frankly we won’t hire any sex offender no matter their circumstances for being on the registry.

I believe it megans law should be outlawed. It protects NOBODY and doesn’t stop crimes being commited. It (Megans Law) is a tool used to publicly shame and serves no real purpose.

I just wanna cry. All i want is a decent job that pays a decent wage. Im not a monster. Im a hard working man who did something rotten 25 years ago and i am still being tortured by it. I have MAD construction skills but am barely getting by doing general labor work. I am convinced that society would just like me to go away permanently but since i cant i just have to suffer.

I think everyone should be able to get that chance,it only right if they can hire a thief or a killer but not a sex offender that been a racest I thought we where us citenes to.if you can judge sexoffeners we should judge everyone easle as well.

Walmart is one example of MANY corporations that absolutely will NOT hire a former convicted se# offender. They are all publicly demonized and thus the public has a “pre concieved notion that something is mentally wrong with them. That IS a qualification for disability i.e., Would YOU hire a registered sex offender? Do you want your business listed on the registry as one that actively employs a registered sex offender?

We have also heard of sex offenders getting on disability because they were legally disabled because no one would hire them.

I find this hard to believe. “Because no one will hire me.” is not on the list of Disabilities.

I Have been a convicted sex offender since 1979. I ended upon on Megan’s ist in 1996 and the judge (small rural county) refuses to assign me less than level three. I turned 60 this year and cannot get an employer to hire me and I sincerely believe it is because I am on the registry. No employer wants there business name list as a place to work. I need advise. Help would be more like it. I live on $180 a week. Rockford@email.com
